What is there to do when you're given an extra day? RUN, of course! Come and join us for our leap year events and choose from a 5mi or 10mi fast trail course with only 141ft of ascent. The predominantly flat, traffic free looped trail course, will give you the opportunity to run either 5 or 10 miles. The course will be a 5mi loop and those running the 10mi event will run it twice after returning to the aid station after the first loop.
As with all of our events, the events will be chip timed and will be run in accordance with UK Athletics guidelines and under a race permit from the UK TRA.
PLEASE NOTE – In an attempt to reduce our race-day plastic waste, this is a CUPLESS event! We will provide all drinks and refreshments as per our usual aid stations, but you will need to provide a receptacle of some description. It can be a reusable cup, soft flask or whatever vessel you choose, even your very own running shoe, but we won’t be providing any cups at all, and there will be no drinking from jugs either! We will, of course, be more than happy to assist you with the filling of whatever you choose, as normal. If you wish, you are able to purchase a Hydrapak Speedcup online as part of your registration, or on race day for £2.
An opportunity to run on a fast trail course and with the usual standard of H&T sought after, unique, bespoke medal, this promises to be a fantastic event for runners of all abilities.
The race will start at outside The Batemans Tower Café, Promenade Way, Brightlingsea, Essex. CO7 0HH.
There is ample parking on the roadside along Promenade Way, but also in public car parks located on Promenade Way.
Toilets are located near Bateman’s Café on the West Promenade, in the car park at the end of Promenade Way. These will be accessible, before, during, and after the race.
Please view our Terms and Conditions before registering for any event.
Please be mindful of other users of the promenade area and park responsibly. There will be no excuse for littering given the ability to dispose of any unwanted rubbish at the end of every lap in the bins provided. We would like to continue to return to this venue regularly and constant littering might make this difficult.
Brightlingsea is a small historical sailing town with much to offer the day visitor or as a base to explore the surrounding towns and countryside. http://www.brightlingsea-town.co.uk
Today Brightlingsea is a thriving town with many interesting old buildings set amongst a town centre of friendly mainly independent shops. The narrow streets lead down to the Town Hard where you can spend some leisurely time to watch the comings and goings, see families enjoying crabbing from the town jetty or disembarking from the ferry or visiting yachts.
From the Town Hard you can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade lined with colourful beach huts, past the open air swimming pool to Batemans Tower where you will find a café, children’s playground, skateboard park and the start of your next challenge!
