Picturesque event with great support
Toilets at Paper Mill Lock cafe were restricted to customers only. We had to buy something or make a donation to use them.

Enjoyable despite the heatwave!
Well organised at the start. Well stocked aid stations, we were quite near the back but there was still plenty of food and water, the latter particularly important as we were running in a heatwave. Some confusion beforehand about the exact location of the start as details on the event page were inconsistent, though it was clear once we arrived.
Only disappointment was not to receive a finisher t-shirt as stated in the event details.

My first marathon with H&T - i will be back. Really supportive and helpful throughout the run. Excellent aid stations.

A fun, friendly event, with great route variety.
The new route worked well in my opinion. The first half follows the river, then you have a short section of sea wall, with some inland trail to finish.
Will do this one again.

It’s hard to fault H&T events and this one has become one of my favourites. A beautiful route and all the provisions needed supplied to aid a successful race

An awesome run from H & T as always.
What a fantastic team. So friendly, a beautiful run and so very well organised. Found the instructions a little tricky towards the end but that may have been fatigue due to the heat! The best aid stations and such lovely people it was an absolute blast! Massive thanks to all who gave up their time to make this event happen.

Beautiful point to point race
I absolutely love taking part in H&T events. Always such a lovely atmosphere the organiser are fantastic. This is such a beautiful point to point race, running along side the River Chelmer, you can really soak up the flora and fauna!

An event of two halves- canal tow path & seawall - bleak but beautiful!
Really well organised event as usual from H&T. Fantastic feed stations - especially the water melon - with enthusiastic volunteers. They always go that little bit further to make sure you have a good run. Thank you.

If you want to be at one with nature then take on the Blackwater Trail Half Marathon. Aid stations are first class and will help you through as you take in some of the finest countryside Essex has to offer.
