Excellent, friendly event in beautiful countryside.

The only point that I would make for the organisers is that I feel you could have emphasised more strongly that this is a self navigation event. I had noted that GPX routes and printed instructions were available and also the comment that it was predominantly self navigation. My view is that it was totally self navigation and without either GPX guidance or written instructions it is a very difficult route.
Other than that, fantastic, thank you.

Thanks for your constructive feedback David - that's really helpful. You're right that it is a totally self-navigated event, although we are looking at adding a directional sign right near the end where lots of runners with both gpx and written instructions found it difficult to locate the turning! We're glad that you had a great time - it's such a beautiful course and always a lovely event!

Loved it as a newbie to Suffolk. Friendly. Great mix of trails, hills and views. Great aid stations (amazing for a half!) and yes, navigation is up to the individual which makes it quirkier and slower but hey, it’s not a PB road race!

Coffee van at the start would be extra lovely.
Everything else fantastic.
And every room in the village hall led to another toilet! No queues!!

Thanks for your lovely feedback Sharon - we really appreciate it! A coffee truck at the start/finish would be brilliant and a great suggestion! We'll see what we can do with that!! :-)

Spectacular scenery! The Dedham Vale lives up to its AONB billing.

A nice mix of roads, trails, woods, fields, hills and flats.

Well organised and great fun

Only issue was the overgrowth towards the end when possibly a sign or two would have been super helpful

Thank you for your positive feedback David, we're so pleased that you had a great event. Thanks for your constructive thoughts, we have had our post-event feedback discussion over a much needed sit down and drink at the Anchor once we had packed everything up and agree with you around the signage for the hidden entrance, right at the very end. :-) Thanks again Bev

Brilliant event and great route

Cannot recommend this event highly enough. Everything from Pre event communication, set up and briefing at start, food / water stops on route, the route/event, the medal and t-shirts all was amazing. Special thanks go to the volunteers and event organisers for putting on such a great event. One I would definitely do again. Thank you

Wonderful friendly atmosphere. Unbelievably hot today but I was prepared for that. My first trails marathon and the generous cut off times allowed me to get round in one piece! Gorgeous route, instructions along side route file on OS maps all clear.

I only just made it 20 mins before cut off but the finish line marshalls/organisers made it feel as special as if I'd won, applauding in the last few of us. Loved it, thank you so much. I will definitely be booking with Hare and Tortoise again!

Such a Beautiful scenic course, tough in some places, a few hidden paths but all part of the fun of self navigation. H&T have built a great community who are very welcoming to everyone. I would 100% recommend this race!

Fantastic event

Thanks Pete, Bev and team for a wonderful event. I have now run the marathon or half 5 times under 3 different organising companies, and it remains a well-organised, friendly event in the true spirit of trail running. One piece of constructive criticism: you need a check-point, marshal, or at least a sign, in Stratford St Mary at the point where the marathon and half marathon routes diverge. Chatting to other runners afterwards it was apparent that some 'half' runners had followed the marathon route here (adding about an extra mile to their run). And conversely, it would have been easy for a marathon runner to inadvertently follow the half runners here and accidentally miss out that mile.
