A lovely, somewhat challenging local race

Second time running the Saltmarsh half and enjoyed it even more this time around. The course is a varied trail with some gentle inclines and scenic views. Previous year was a lot muddier so was a blessing to get a firm course for the most-part. Nothing the organisers can do about the wind but for anyone tempted to run in 2026 be prepared to adapt!
On the whole a super race with a lovely communal feel. Felt valued by the organisers and will happily look to run again, fingers-crossed for at least a partial tailwind next year!

Really enjoyable event

This was my first event organised by H&T and I was very impressed. Well organised and great value for money. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Well stocked aid stations along the route.
The route although mainly flat was quite challenging and the wind was a struggle at times but in general it was really enjoyable with a nice mix of Saltmarsh path, wooded trail and some short road sections.
In terms of feedback the shuttle bus was really helpful but I feel that the pickup time could have been 30-45 minutes later to avoid people waiting around getting cold.

Organiser comment:

Thank you for your feedback about the shuttle - we agree!! We have looked at the timings and also the start location to see if we can make this a little bit more time friendly and warmer while you wait!! :-)

First Half Marathon

I did the Saltmarsh as my first half marathon. It was bit tougher than I thought mainly due to the wind but the support all the way along was fantastic and very friendly. So impressed with the medal which I will long treasure! Would not hesitate to recommend to others or run again in future years. Thankyou xx

Great race around the sea wall Very tough in the wind this time.

A marshall at the car park near the start would be helpful. Several people not sure which way to go to the start.

Fantastic but breezy

Very well organised, friendly staff and runners. Deceptively tough in the second half with the breeze. Very happy to finish !

Very well organised trail race.

Really enjoyed the event, which is well-organised and offers really good value for money. The course is mostly flat but the toughness will be dependent on weather, which is obviously out of anyone's control. You get lucky or you get wet! This year it was very windy, although thankfully not too much of it a headwind. Excellent medal and finisher's bag, and the aid stations along the way were some of the best-stocked I've experienced in any race. Would happily participate again and recommend to anyone who is tempted to give the event a go; everyone was really friendly and it had a positive vibe throughout.

Great

Nice race. I should have trained. I did get a bit lost. Did I miss the route or did the path disappear into the river? I Would recommend it, very friendly race.

Hard but very enjoyable

Well organised half. Stunning scenery and very friendly atmosphere due to the small size of this event (there were less participants than in my local parkrun). Narrow uneven path make it difficult and I would not recommend it to someone who hasn't done a half before. I like that you got the t-shirt before the run so you can wear it there and also the stops stocked up with salty and sweet snacks. The only problem I encountered was a flooded path. Was that due to the tide or did I miss a turn?
